Unquestionably original. A total masterpiece. And startlingly fresh.
Of course we’re talking about your cherished little peanut. But that description also fits the ultra-colorful, marvelously inspired paintings and prints (“happy art for kids”) created by Jennie Villanueva.
The California-based artist began painting when she was pregnant with her first child. Once she started, she couldn’t put the brush down. She banged out grasshoppers, bright ladybugs and busy bees, semi-Cubist ice cream sundaes, and plenty of Dali-esque caterpillar montages.
Now she’s moved on to one-of-a-kind prints for other people’s children. She works from scratch for each, guaranteeing that no two are exactly alike. If you want, she’ll further customize pieces by incorporating your child’s name (or, for babies, birth date and weight) into the prints.
Leaving no room for doubt: Your darling pumpkin is truly a piece of work.
