Gender Studies

Unisex. A great concept, but it still has a few kinks left to work out. (See mutually embarrassing moments in progressive office restroom.)

Some things just need to be a little gender specific — like Peter Jones’s curve-cuddling button-downs.

The fabrics may be testosterone-friendly (cadet blue, pinstriped, and coral are the best sellers), but co-founding fashion vets Pavel Buk and John Cherpas (who launched cult fave Grass denim a few years back) gave them femme touches like ruffles, bust pleats, and nipped waists, and do preppy, flirty shapes with puffed sleeves and sailor necklines.

Cuts are precise, and tops don’t come with stretch — just convenient, bust-friendly sizing (petites included). And enough charm to take on even the dullest navy suit lurking around your closet.

Or, for that matter, your stall.
