Skinny. Mini. And flat. Shocking. You have to be all three to make fall’s “do” lists. (Again.)
Bucking the less-is-more trend: jewelry designer Elyssa Bass. After selling the umpteenth piece right off of her neck, she quit her day job and went full-time with a collection of statement-making — and substantially sized — necklaces and earrings.
Bass draws inspiration from the estate pieces she fawned over as a kid in her grandmother’s New York antiques store, finishing off her own original designs with semiprecious carved and polished stones in nature-based hues: sepia Botswanan agate pendants, translucent Peruvian chalcedony earrings, and delicate gold and silver loops and chains to keep them all together.
Sure, her stuff is pricey (oh-so intricate necklaces can cost up to $1,000), but they’re a sure bet that, style-wise, you’ll always have a leg to stand on.
No matter what yours happen to look like.
