The Simple Life

Nobody ever mistook you for Miss Simple E. Unfussy, now did they?

That’s about to change — at least where your wardrobe is concerned — when you score some Lewis Cho. Designed by Anna Sui alums Annie Lewis and Helen Cho, the collection is serenely simple in a Shaker-meets-Japanese minimalism kind of way.

The pieces take classic dressmaking details and twist them around, resulting in clothes that are elegant but casual and comfortable. One silk tunic has a V-shaped placket front and covered buttons on the shoulder. A sleeveless dress with soft shirring falls close to the body without being tight. An A-line, military-inspired wool coat has a wide tab collar and a band at the waist (but isn’t marching bandish).

Solid colors like white, cream, black, and plum look sophisticated but are nothing like the dull pieces you’d see on, say, Lady Imma Soboring.

Someone else you’ll never be mistaken for.
