Sippy Cups

Once you made friends who weren’t stuffed animals, you put away your tea set. And figured you wouldn’t need it again until your golden years.

Why wait? The newly opened T on Fairfax will make you want to pour yourself a cup pronto.

Modern and welcoming, with green-striped walls and Vivienne Westwood-esque green-and-purple plaid cushioned banquettes, T serves more than 100 organic teas and coffees, plus a menu inspired by British afternoon tea tastes.

Navigating the black, green, white, herbal, and pu-erh (an aged, highly caffeinated variety) teas may seem tricky, but easy standbys like peppermint and Earl Grey sit alongside brews like Quilan Oolong and White Monkey Picked. Farmer’s market produce and fresh artisan breads make for vegetarian and vegan sandwiches and salads that are tasty first and healthy second. (Same goes for the sweets.)

Plus, with DJs spinning Friday and Saturday night until 1 a.m. and Sunday afternoons, this isn’t your granny’s tea shop. So put your hands together and make some noise.

Time to get this tea party started.
