Knock, Knock. Who’s There?

Your passport’s mighty dusty. But that’s cool. Your bank account has been looking less Corsica and more Calgon, anyway.

But before you drop in a bath tablet (calling it le tub won’t help), pop by Little Next Door for a bite.

The newly opened cafe and market (from the duo behind The Little Door) has a cobalt blue facade that feels like it’s smack dab in the Mediterranean, even though you’re just up the street.

Glass cases at the counter are filled with salads, sandwiches, charcuterie, cheeses, and house-made pâté and terrines; and the kitchen churns out freshly baked French cakes, cookies, sweet and savory pastries, and traditional breads.

Known for their impeccable taste in wines and champagne, they’ve got two stories of cabinets housing varietals from around the world. The friendly staff, clad in caps and French naval shirts, will help you find one, by the glass or bottle, to enjoy on the mosaic-tiled patio out front.

Now those are the kind of fizzy bubbles that should take you away.
