Chalk It Up

Think you’ve still got mad multiple-choice skills (thank you, Kaplan)? Put them to the test. Complete the following:

“Teacher! Teacher! I can’t see the … ”
a) “cutie in front of me.”
b) “point in learning algebra.”
c) “chalkboard.”

If you guessed C, you may be ready to feast your eyes (and the rest of your senses) on Chalkboard, a new restaurant in Lincoln Square. The latest from Gilbert Langlois (of Sushi Samba Rio fame) is a lesson in culinary art.

The decor is reminiscent of a French tea room (comfy banquettes, an antique chandelier, and warm-toned walls). Nightly specials (as well as the inspiration behind them) are displayed on — you got it — a chalkboard, offering everything from curried chicken potpie to Gil’s famous chocolate chip cookie dough egg rolls. And with options like line-caught scallops with pheasant confit or roasted New Zealand venison atop celery root puree, you’ll never be too cool for school.

And perfect attendance should be a breeze.
