But at least we share Emily & Ashley, a hot and (somewhat affordable) range of jewellery designed by two rather groovy sisters (that’ll be Emily and Ashley), originally from Connecticut.

Their modern, edgy pendants go with everything, be it jeans, a cocktail dress, bikini or kaftan. Such a hit is the New York-based label stateside, it’s stocked in Bergdorf Goodman and Neiman Marcus stores across the country.

Choose from 14-karat gold discs engraved with skulls, hearts or elephants, or onyx, turquoise and aventurine stones lightly topped with miniature insects and starbursts.

If you can afford to do so, buy several pieces and wear them all at once. If you can’t, don’t panic.
