The Girl Scouts Project Troop to Troop is sponsored by members in North Central and East Texas. The ladies have teamed up with Fort Hood personnel and the USO to ensure soldiers stationed overseas, preparing to leave, or arriving back in the U.S. get a little taste of home.
More than 60,000 boxes were delivered to military personnel last year. But the organization’s hoping they’ll have even more (100,000) to ship on March 24 when the trucks head out.
Non-Thin Mint, Tagalong, or Samoas junkies will probably scoff at the idea of relinquishing their stash. But you didn’t really expect them to understand, did you?
It is, after all, a Girl Scouts thing.
Donate boxes or cases online or buy cookies on March 24, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., at Valley View Mall, Preston Road and I-635.
