The Fresh Prints in Plein Air

Remember that summer when we ran through a field of wildflowers? Our hair was windswept and our laughter echoed through the trees.

Wait. That didn’t happen? That was a music video?

Well, you don’t have to live an image to love it. That’s the inspiration behind She Hit Pause Studios’s nostalgic, winsome images of our city and all the pretty ladies who live here.

Sharpshooter Matt Schwartz uses Polaroid transfers to capture private moments or pretty objects in unexpected places. Think discarded typewriters, toy pianos in fields, and modern pinup girls printed on watercolor paper, framed with antique barn wood, and sold on the street.

If you want to be in the picture, Schwartz will set up a daydreamy photo shoot. Now’s your chance to be photographed in a bathtub full of gum balls.

Can’t you picture it?

Available Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, 8 a.m.-6 p.m., at a table on Union Square West, between 14th and 15th Streets; online at shehitpausestudios.com.
