Bake What Your Mama Gave Ya

They still talk about your infamous gluten-free carob brownies over at the Elks Lodge. It was your bake sale contribution, after all, that inspired the strict “eat at your own risk” policy. (Hey, not your fault Charlie Polanski skimped on his Polident that day).

Next time you’ll leave the biofriendly baking to Nellie Hernandez. Inspired by the fresh approach to cooking her mother instilled in her, the self-described “frustrated chef” (she’s a financial consultant by day) wondered if she could whip up baked goods that were organic but didn’t taste like chewy cardboard.

After lots of experimentation, she started Baked Earth Organics. Her petite loaves, which can be delivered straight to your door, come in flavors like dark chocolate espresso with dried cherries, orange lavender, and banana honey. Cookies and brownies are also on the menu, and Hernandez is happy to cater your next event.

Bake sales included.
