You’re done playing games. The thrill of the chase, to call or not to call, “it’s not you, it’s me.”
But you haven’t lost your competitive edge. Prove it with a throwdown in the Players Suites at the Hotel Tomo Best Western.
The renovated Japantown digs feel like a live-action anime strip. Monster movies play in the lobby, where there’s a Giant Robot vending machine (for emergency hoodie needs). Eye-popping murals by Japanese artist Heisuke Kitazawa repeat throughout the hotel.
But the action is in the game rooms. Gray bean bags and Skittles-colored sofas face a giant projection screen for hot and heavy Wii sessions. The suites also come with PlayStation 3 and a DVD player and go for $150 for two hours or $500 for the night.
Fuel your boy v. girl Boogie dance-offs (stag and hen parties, too) with sake and fresh sashimi from the market next door.
If you lose, don’t hate the player: Hate the game.
Hotel Tomo Best Western, 1800 Sutter Street, at Buchanan Street (415-921-4000).
