Patience. Love. No wire hangers. When it comes to good parenting, you’ve mastered the basics.
But if you’re not sure your BFF’s neighbor’s brother’s boss’s daughter can do the same while you’re out this Saturday night, we’d like to suggest you attend a MommyMixer.
Founded by an Austin mom in 2003, the ingenious idea’s coming to Dallas next month. We’re telling you about it now because they’re sure to run out of space.
Here’s how it works: Twenty families show up and mingle with 30 college students (who all have to submit a resume) for about an hour and a half. You find the sitter of your dreams to watch your little one as much or little as you like.
The best part? Many of the contenders don’t mind helping out around the house (like running errands, building your kid’s science project, whatever).
It’s the perfect way to make sure your tots always read their favorite books before bedtime.
Because succeeding is fundamental.
November 6, 7-8:30 p.m., at Elements, 4400 Lovers Lane, University Park (214-987-0837). For more information and to R.S.V.P., go to mommymixer.com.
