Wooly Bullies

Ring, ring.

Babe: Old MacDonald’s Farm, Babe speaking.

Wilbur: Dude, it’s me. These new Mangalitsa pigs that a Spokane farmer imported from Europe have been hogging Fern’s attention.

Babe: I don’t mean to squeal, but you know those Euro pigs don’t shave?

Wilbur: Gross. Where’d you hear that slop?

Babe: At the U-District Farmers Market, where they debuted. And they’ve been seen at all the best restaurants — Lark, Le Gourmand, Stumbling Goat.

Wilbur: Why the ruckus?

Babe: Word is that they’re raised the traditional, sustainable European way. They’ve got fattier, more succulent meat with superior marbling. Supposedly they’re the best-tasting pigs in Europe.

Wilbur: Man, I used to be chief chops on this farm.

Babe: Hey, at least you’re not the one bringing home the bacon.

Wilbur: Yeah. That would be hamicide.
