If your idea of Italian food involves the word olive or garden, you need some serious schooling.

Get it at Natalino’s, a new West Town joint opening today. After tasting Martin Perdomo’s (Coco Pazzo) handmade pastas, giant steaks, and contemporary classics, you’ll never look at unlimited breadsticks the same way again.

Perdomo cranks out old faithfuls like chicken vesuvio and homemade Italian sausage and more modern dishes like angel hair pasta with lobster and lemon tarragon sauce and whole wheat flax seed penne with cherry tomatoes and fresh ricotta.

Dark woodwork, vintage Italian art, and suede walls keep it cozy and warm, even on the chilliest night.

Look for an outdoor cafe come summertime, designed for both man and his best friend. Natalino’s even plans to offer a doggie menu with healthy, organic choices, so Paco won’t miss out on the action.

Mmmm. Boot-ylicious.

Natalino’s, 1523 West Chicago Avenue, at Armour Street (312-997-3700).
