Chilling in the basement hasn’t been cool since Wayne’s World.
But things are about to change with tonight’s opening of Breadsoda, a new below-ground hangout in Glover Park.
Get your game on with pool, darts, shuffleboard, ping-pong, and Wii. Or get your drink on at the long wood-paneled bar, where you can down a quick espresso or linger over something from the extensive beer and wine list.
As the name implies, bread rules the menu: deli-style sandwiches like an overstuffed Reuben, a hefty BLT, and egg salad with chives and capers on olive bread. Eat lunch or dinner at a high-top table, on a leather banquette, or out on the patio. Plans are in the works for a late-night menu.
Now that’s something you can get down with.
Breadsoda, 2233 Wisconsin Avenue NW, at Hall Place (202-333-7445).
