Seems like the robin, wren, and all the other little birdies always have something to tell you.
Well, so does The Stork. The new Hollywood restaurant and nightspot is now open.
Inspired very loosely by the 1940s private Stork Club in Manhattan, the indoor/outdoor eatery has the carefully cultivated vibe of a laid-back Brooklyn loft with its homey low bar, reclaimed naval base bricks, and windows salvaged from Andy Warhol’s Factory.
For now, it’s dinner only with light bistro fare like crispy baby artichokes, steak frites, or sweet corn agnolotti. But soon you can spend all night sipping Ross Calls (cucumber, lime, mint-infused vodka with a splash of soda) at the ultra-exclusive lounge upstairs, a cavernous industrial space with a rooftop courtyard and Cuban-style bar, entered speakeasy style by way of a dingy stairwell.
Just think of it as a bundle of joy.
The Stork, 1738 North Orange Drive, between Hollywood Boulevard and Franklin Avenue, Hollywood (323-462-3663). Reservations required.
