Instead of looking for the right man to do when the clock strikes 12, find the right gent for your do at Tommy Guns Salon.
Owner Russell Manley, a dapper fellow trained in Sussex, recently opened the LES outpost of the trendy Brit hub, which has trimmed the manes of Kate Moss, Scissor Sisters, Chloë Sevigny, and Dita Von Teese.
The ’30s-style barber shop (an aesthetic that predates Freemans, for the record) has a showcase displaying UK brands like Geo. F. Trumper and Penhaligons (the shop’s eponymous line of products will launch in ’09) and a roster of laid-back fashion stylists sharpening their shears.
Have a spot of tea and soak in the warm, welcoming atmosphere while head stylist Duffy recommends a full chop for a fresh start (or at least a radical bang trim).
The results will have your lips puckered long before the ball drops.
Tommy Guns Salon, 138 Ludlow Street, between Rivington and Stanton Streets (212-477-1151 or tommygunsny.com).
