Family Jewels

These days, there’s little that’s passed from generation to generation (unless you count your wonky nose and sense of humor).

But Jan Pecarsky’s necklaces are something you’ll keep in the family.

Her designs are a combination of semiprecious stones and offbeat accents like antique brooches she picks up in flea markets and at estate sales. She approaches her work in a painterly manner, playing with color, texture, and composition.

The look is a mix of chunky beads in different shapes and sizes, which can be worn doubled or as a long strand. Though they’re statement pieces, you can wear them from season to season.

And remember, each one is a truly unique creation.

Kind of like your brother’s unibrow.
