Relationships, opinions, murder mysteries: not everything’s better the second time around.
The Commander Porterhouse and Oyster Bar, however, most certainly is. After three months, the Notting Hill locale has reopened as a full-on resto with private function rooms, an oyster bar and a bistro headed up by Robert Staegemann (Vivat Bacchus).
In addition, there is a gourmet deli set in its own market courtyard. Here, fishmonger John Norris sells his daily catch, meat is supplied by London butcher The Ginger Pig, and seasonal blooms come from Hayford & Rhodes.
The joint officially opens next Friday, but if you head down there now you’ll receive 25 per cent off your food bill whilst the staff gets up to speed.
Which means you can afford to have seconds.
