Mario Lopez: It’s time for the Q and A round. Jane Roberts of Sugarkist, why do you deserve this year’s title?
Jane: I honed my pastry skills at Blackbird and Lula Cafe. I use organic ingredients to make delicious pies: pear hazelnut crumble with brown butter streusel, chocolate bourbon pecan, apple-brandied cherry, maple walnut, and more.
Mario: Downing one of those pies would eliminate you from the swimwear competition!
Jane: I bake minipies to avoid muffin tops. I also do custom orders and door-to-door deliveries for anyone in Chicago.
Mario: This decision is as easy as, well … ladies and gentlemen, Miss American Pie.
