What’s cooler than cosmic fighting felines?

Not much, save artist Alex Paik’s new Tiger Strikes Asteroid gallery, of course.

Paik and five friends have taken the cooperative spirit to heart, providing a studio for the creative-minded to collaborate on projects and curate shows. The result is a Chinatown space where the individual is king. It’s located at The Fourth Floor, new studios in the arts building that houses Vox Populi, Copy, and Khmer art galleries.

Tiger is striking while the iron’s hot with Spring Break 2009, Phillip Adams’s large-scale wall drawing — a fusion of political satire and mural techniques — to kick off tonight’s opening.

Take that, Thundercats.
