Fancy cheese. Fine wine. Italian accents.
You crave the upper crust.
Get your fill at Urban Crust, yet another new pizzeria. (Dallas restaurateurs, you’re seriously stuffing our faces this month.)
Crispy wood-fire pizza is the name of the game at the historic downtown Plano joint.
Urban Amore has our heart with fig preserves, prosciutto, Texas goat cheese, and aged balsamic drizzle. The starters don’t disappoint, either, especially mussels in tomatillo sauce; wood-fire bocconcini with melted mozzarella and roasted garlic mushrooms; and the Heart of Plano salad with artichokes, smoked bacon, blue cheese, and Dijon vinaigrette.
In true Texas form, drinks get big play. There’s an extensive wine list (we’re talking 27 by the glass). And the rooftop bar, 32 Degrees, has smashing views and a 30-foot-long block of ice to keep sips (including fruitinis made with local produce) chill.
Taste the high life.
Urban Crust, 1006 East 15th Street (972-509-1400 or urbancrust.com).
