Finding activities to keep them busy all year can be like searching for lost booty.
Well, X marks the spot with the Hike the Highlands Scavenger Hunt. It’s an interactive way to enjoy the great outdoors.
Download the questions or pick up a set of cards at locations around the city. Not to worry if your cub gets pooped easily; most of the answers can be found toward the beginning of the trails.
Trek to at least three parks (just out of town is the Schuylkill River Trail, or take a trip to the Hopewell Furnace National Historic Site for apple picking) then submit your answers online. You’ll be eligible to win outdoorsy prizes in monthly drawings.
Plus, at each spot there’s changing leaves and oodles of fresh air.
Which is something everyone will treasure.
Hike the Highlands (610-868-6906 or outdoors.org). Through October 31.
