That last time you got in touch with Mother Earth involved a face-plant. (Lesson: Pharmaceuticals and platform heels don’t mix.)
Hit pay dirt without bodily injury at Clagett Farm, a sustainable oasis located just beyond the Beltway that trades volunteer work for produce.
Call ahead to reserve space then arrive ready to roll up your sleeves. During the four-hour shift, you’ll pick and clean ripe veggies and herbs, tend weeds, and handle other easy chores.
When time’s up, you’ll earn a box or bag stuffed full of tomatoes, potatoes, peppers, salad greens, and the like (not to mention a greener thumb).
So have a nice trip.
See ya this fall.
