You’ve always taken the road less traveled.
Since the traditional wedding won’t do, here are a few unconventional avenues.
Dress Rehearsal
You’re sure to find a smashing stunner at Warren Barrón Bridal’s Monique Lhuillier trunk show (October 29 -November 1, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.). Or take a greener approach and hit Zola’s Everyday Vintage for antique gowns and accoutrements (hankies, gloves, garters, heels, slips). The boutique also hosts bridal showers and bachelorette parties complete with champagne, nibbles, music, and a 20 percent off discount.
Here Comes the Drive
Saying “I do” to Austin? Head to Serendipity Bridal for the Amsale trunk show (October 22-24, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.), with up to 15 percent off all special dress orders. Indie label Ciarla Bride, based in an atelier just east of Interstate 35 (A-town’s hip new hood), has funkier styles — from colorful Alice in Wonderland-inspired bridesmaid minis to classic, knee-length bridal dresses.
Bling Along
Dallas-based Samantha Rose just launched a bridal collection chockful of freshwater pearl and semiprecious stone earrings, necklaces, bracelets, and pendants. For nonconformists: MaggieGlynn’s super-affordable vintage lace necklaces and cuffs are intentionally imperfect.
Flower Girl
Carnation-budget brides with peony taste need simply visit Wed by Cymbidium. The fancy-schmancy florist now offers DIY arrangements, saving you pricey professional labor costs. Buds will be shipped to you — along with vases, clippers, ribbons, tips, even a step-by-step video — so you can create dreamy florals (centerpieces, bouquets) on a dime.
At Your Service
After years as a lifestyle editor at The Dallas Morning News, Misty Bailey decided to write her own story: Bailey Catering & Events covers entire affairs from lighting and decor to rentals, flowers, photos, customized menus, and the getaway car. Searching for a unique venue? Look no further than the recently opened Filter Building, a revamped ’20s brick space on White Rock Lake that donates rental profits to the White Rock Boathouse.
Keep Them Guesting
Instead of a regular ol’ guest book, have invitees pen congrats on cute little note cards from Just Wright Boutique’s wedding guest book boxes. The Flower Mound company’s creations come in chic wood containers with an easy filing system and personalized front seal.
Not everything can be out of the box.
