Trying to find a place for lunch that welcomes a stroller and satisfies your palate has you headed for the funny farm.
Turn around and head to Mendocino Farms in Marina del Rey instead. Opening this Thursday, the haute hoagie joint’s newest location was designed specifically with whippersnappers in mind.
Park your wheels in the stroller lane at the door and head inside the charming, rustic restaurant. A kid-height communal table surrounded by a chalkboard encourages minis to add to the barnyard tableau. Classic kids’ sammies ($5) with a healthy twist, like house-made peanut butter, cranberry jam, and green apples, or roasted chicken and smashed avocado, are sure to please finicky eaters.
Plans are for fenced-in outdoor patio seating. And an ingenious table transforms into a stage for weekly distractions, er, performances, so you can enjoy your Kurobuta pork belly banh mi in peace.
