The grand reopening dust has settled around legendary Hollywood hotspot Las Palmas, and the Prohibition Tea menu has been fully tested. We recommend the Earl (a combination of lavender Earl Grey tea, elderflower liqueur, and vodka) or the Bourbon (made with vanilla houjicha tea and cassis). But the best seat in the house might not even be in the house: Check out The Taco Shop.
Nooked next to the club’s main entrance, the tiny open-air, thatch-roof taqueria serves a set menu of six tacos, a la carte Mexican fare, and crispy tortilla chips to revelers through a small sliding window until 2 a.m. Go for braised short ribs or the grilled vegetables topped with lettuce, queso fresco, and heaping sides of guacamole and salsas — all made from scratch.
Show up before 11 p.m. for a table inside, where chefs John Gladish and Mark Mittleman feature an extensive dining menu. Stay late and witness the nightclub — redone with vintage Spanish tiling and detailed brass finishes — hit full swing. We’ll be people-watching in the parking lot with some carne asada if you need us.
