When we hear “wholesome” and “burger” in the same sentence, we imagine a lumpy mass of quinoa and kidney beans.
Not any more, thanks to Roam Artisan Burgers, opening Monday in Cow Hollow. The farmhouse-inspired, counter-order joint uses only premium protein (grass-fed beef, free-range turkey, all-natural bison) for its delicious, meaty creations.
Diners can choose their own toppings or opt for a Sunnyside (organic free-range egg, sweet chili sauce, aged white cheddar) or Tejano (pepper Jack, jalapeno relish, white corn strips). Pair ’em with fries (skin-on russet, sweet potato, or zucchini and onion), kombucha from the tap, agave-sweetened sodas, or wine and beer from a short list.
For dessert, organic, seasonal Straus Family Creamery shakes can be topped with — get this — bruleed marshmallows made from brown rice. Now that’s wholesome.
