On a sunny London day outdoor tables are taken at 9 a.m. and the parks are packed with sunburned couples and slobbering dogs eyeing your picnic.
Get away from the crowds aboard Bluebird of Chelsea, a twin-engine motor yacht moored at Cadogan Pier. Famed Chelsea art dealer Martin Summers’s 55-footer is available to charter with room for twelve, as well as a crew who can prepare anything from sausages to smoked salmon.
In 1985, Summers restored the boat built in the ’30s with elegant mahogany panels and Peruvian fabrics. Take your own wine for no extra charge and cruise past The Tate, House of Commons, Tower Bridge and Canary Wharf to the Thames Barrier.
Seen it all before? Enjoy the day — or dinner — on board while docked in Chelsea, which is cheaper and almost as much fun. Just don’t all rush at once, please.
To book, call 020 7351 7778 or e-mail martin@martinsummers.com. DailyCandy readers get a special price of £800 (reg. £1,200).
