Rent a Bike to Ride Through Chicago

B-cycle Bike Rentals and Sharing Program

b-cycle chicago bike rentals!

Gliding gaily through summer gridlock sounds delightful. Plunking down major funds for two-wheeled transportation does not.

Rent a ride from bike-sharing program B-cycle instead. Already immensely popular in London, Barcelona, and Paris, the just-launched Chicago initiative lets you coast through the city on the cheap while curtailing your carbon footprint.

Sign up for a one-, two-, or three-month membership ($35-$55). Once you get your member card in the mail, swipe it at any of six stations (Museum Campus, Buckingham Fountain, McCormick Place, Daley Plaza, John Hancock Center, and 541 North Fairbanks Street), and you’re off. Or opt for hourly rental ($10 per hour, maximum $40 per day).

The spiffy cruisers are equipped with mesh baskets that hold up to 30 pounds (a.k.a. your overstuffed bag). Park anywhere around town; secure your bike with the provided cable lock.

You’re responsible for damage, theft, and — just a heads-up — your own helmet.

Sign up online at bcycle.com.
