Samantha Pleet’s inspirations take many forms, from time travel voyages to dark magic — and we’ve been under her whimsical spell since 2006. The Brooklyn-based designer launched with a debut collection of woodsy rompers and minidresses — which have become her signature. Menswear (codesigned with her architect husband) and an Urban Outfitters diffusion line (Rapscallion) followed. For spring 2011, Pleet puts on her director’s cap for a cinematic-inspired collection and look book in the form of a short film.
