Your New Favorite Pastrami Sandwich

moore's deli!

Whether it’s the salty caramels or the freshly baked pastries at its Pasadena cafe, Little Flower Candy Co. always leaves you wanting Moore — as in chef and candy maker Christine.

Which means you’ll soon be headed to Burbank, where she, along with her husband, Robert, just opened Moore’s Delicatessen. With a menu full of foodie takes on classic sandwiches, salads, soups, and hearty plates, it’s a modern-day neighborhood noshery.

Drop by in the morning for almond croissants, scones, and a cup of City Bean coffee. Swing through for a midday pastrami on rye with mustard and cole slaw, roasted albacore tuna salad, brown rice bowl, or dip sandwich with au jus and pickles. Go later for peel-and-eat shrimp or Thumann’s all-beef hot dog from New Jersey served on a toasted bun. Sip a pint of beer (there are six on tap) or a glass of wine from the dozen on offer. Just keep in mind that here, less is certainly not Moore.

Moore’s Delicatessen, 271 East Orange Grove Avenue, at North Third Street, Burbank (818-478-1251 or mooresdeli.com).
