Among our getting-them-dressed tactics is good old-fashioned bribery. After all, everyone knows dessert comes to those who wear socks.
But with the debut of Nohi Kids Clothing, we’re attempting another approach: simplicity. Oakland designer Janel Jones’s bamboo onesies, tees, pants, play sets, dresses, and leggings are an easy on, thanks to stretchy fabric and elasticized necklines.
Preshrunk with double-stitched seams, the collection stands up to a machine wash. Long dresses get extra points for their second life as trendy tunics when paired with leggings. But it’s the retro designs that embellish each piece (robots and diggers, cats and balloons) that are the hook you need to get kiddo on board.
Available at Bella Vita, 5407 College Avenue, at Manila Avenue (510-653-1639 or bellavitahome.com); Ruby’s Garden, 5095 Telegraph Avenue, at 51st Street (510-595-5325 or rubysgarden.com); online at nohikids.com, $18-$36.
