The menu’s loaded with Borough Market favourites like Flour Station breads and Neal’s Yard cheeses. Share a platter in the airy dining room (complete with plant-pot lamp shades and a huge tree trunk). Or enjoy a deli-style lunch in the snug library, where book borrowing is encouraged.

At night, the wildlife emerges in the basement bar: throw caution to the wind with a Frangelico-laced dessert drink or go light with a low-cal cocktail like the Skinny Pistol (less than 100 calories). Really, you can have it whichever way your garden grows.
