When a big pink truck with flames painted on its sides lumbers toward you, it probably means business.

When said truck hawks treats like whoopie pies, pudding, and cupcakes, it’s the kind of business you can get behind. Introducing Sweet Ride, Chicago’s latest mobile bakery.

Owner Lupita Kuri left a marketing gig in favor of her lifelong dream: baking. She bought the truck from a pair of friends in San Francisco, punched up the duo’s nearly perfect recipes, and got herself a permit.

Today you can find her via Twitter (@sweetridechi) selling mini cupcakes: Belgian chocolate and banana, fruit- and veggie-packed carrot, red velvet, and strawberry cheesecake. Over cupcakes? Jump on the whoopie pie bandwagon (pumpkin, s’more). Old-fashioned banana pudding, rich chocolate mousse, and Callebaut hot cocoa are also available.
