With itchy trigger thumbs and an incessant need to update (@TMI, we didn’t need the play-by-play of your Brazilian, thanks), you rarely stick a stamp on anything.
But Allison Mitchell and Deanna Ebner, the local ladies behind Tall Cow Cards & Gifts, are on a quest to revive the art of letter writing.
With a swath of sky blue paint, they’ve transformed a forlorn storefront across from Hoof + Fin into a stationery haven. Browse a wall devoted to paper goods from around the country (Saturn Press, Yee-Haw Industries, Yellow Owl Workshop) with not a cloying one in the bunch. When the message is not so sweet (“You’re my second-best friend.”), look to wryly funny Mean Cards to soften the blow.
Pair well wishes with affordable last-minute hostess gifts and birthday presents like Leah Duncan pillows, Scintilla throws, and a line of silk-screened wine totes that are on the way.
Now that’s something to write home about.
