NYC line Carleen has gained a cult following among editors and Brooklyn It girls in a few short seasons. Coincidentally, it was another kind of crowd that influenced designer Kelsy Carleen Parkhouse’s latest lineup: a commune by the name of Drop City. Founded by Colorado artists in 1965, its colorful geodesic-dome huts, alternative lifestyle, and utopian ideals inspired the designer’s smock-like tunics, wide-leg pants, and free-flowing maxidresses with heritage flourishes (macrame appliques, vintage quilts, embroidery) and long fringe. Here’s an exclusive look at the entire collection, shot by Morgan Levy. It hits stores August 15. Won’t you join us?
