Tiny Teru Tees and Onesies

Parenting is a massive undertaking. And all we can do is hope we’re up to the task.

Start by practicing what you preach with Tiny Teru, a new collection of tops with a yes-you-can message on every shirt.

Sprung from the imaginations of Pixar artist Mike Wu and his wife, Korey Watari, the tees and onesies highlight a trio of purposeful tots (Teru, Maggie, and Thomas), their pals (an elephant and a yeti), and some enviable wheels (a vintage tricycle and roadster). Each illustrated vignette includes an inspired image that incorporates the word “able.”

Printed locally using Japanese water-based inks, the tees are cozy and full of character.

In a word, adorable.

Hanukkah Candle Lighting
What: Light the menorah, admire a giant light installation, and enjoy drinks and refreshments.
Why: A de-light-ful family event.
When: Tues.-Dec. 27. Daily, 4:30 p.m.

Fairy Winterland
What: A week of multiculti holiday entertainment with unlimited rides, daily parades, and Santa visits.
Why: It’s a small world.
When: Thru Fri., noon-7 p.m.
Where: Children’s Fairyland, 699 Bellevue Ave., at Lake Merritt, Oakland (510-452-2259). Park admission is $8 for adults and children; babies are free.

PULSE
Taiko Ren’s New Year’s Performance
What: An energetic welcome, courtesy of the local Japanese taiko troupe.
Why: Drum in 2012 while they’re still awake.
When: Dec. 31, 12:30 & 2:30 p.m.
Where: California Academy of Sciences, 55 Music Concourse Dr., in Golden Gate Park (415-379-8000). Event is free with museum admission. Adults, $30; kids 12-17, $25; kids 4-11, $20; kids 3 and under, free.
