Money in the Bank

Piggy Bank for Kids

Put your money away a little bit at a time. Try to forget it’s there. When you go to retrieve it, you’ll have more than you expected.

Lesson One: It’s never too early to start imparting the fundamentals of Financial Savvy 101.

And there may be no better place to stash quarters than this adorable piggy bank we found at Pokkadots’ online shop. It’s rubber, which means it’s durable. (Lesson Two: Don’t be tempted by ephemeral investments.) It’s minimalist and simple. (Lesson Three: Beware of overly complicated financial schemes.) And it’s so darn cute it’s practically silly. (Lesson Four: A sense of humor may ultimately be more valuable than money.)

As for what the kids get from having saved their pennies for a rainy day … We’ll let them explain that one in their own words.
