Bright Things

Animal Lamps

According to the Chinese zodiac, people born in the Year of the Dog are honest, loyal, and good at keeping secrets.

Per the powers of electricity, kids with a dog-shaped lamp can light up a dark room.

And ditto all the other adorable illuminated miniature mammals (and one reptile for good luck) from UncommonGoods.

Cosmo is a cow with wings (for jumping over the moon, no doubt). Ernie is a brilliant blue elephant with a curly trunk. There’s Pinky the pig, Ferris the frog, Murray the funky monkey, Catie the yellow kitty, and, of course, Petey the puppy. Each smaller-than-a-shih tzu lamp is made of paper and comes with a 25-watt bulb.

Think of it as a sweet, friendly face at bedtime.

Which just may make it baby’s best friend.
