Open Oven, Insert Bun

Monkey & the Bug Boutique Opens

monkey & the bug!

What happens when the owner of a stylish boutique gets knocked up? She births yet another shop, of course.

Stel’s co-owner Tina Burgos had twins last year, prompting her to open her latest addition: the kids’ spot Monkey & the Bug. The subterranean store-within-a-store stocks indie-designer items not otherwise found in town. Browse clothing (Nico Nico organic leggings, Imps & Elfs denim), toys (I Golfini Della Nona stuffed animals, Confetti System metallic pinatas), and lots more.

It’s all fertile ground for gifts.

Monkey & the Bug, inside Stel’s, 334 Newbury Street, between Hereford Street and Massachusetts Avenue, Back Bay (617-262-3348 or shopstels.com).

Dear Daily Candy, I really enjoy your newsletter . I have participated in many of the festivities and have shopped , shopped, shopped at the places you have showcased. I have one criticism and it is the language used in describing a few of the events. Most of the time it is quite smart and humorous....but once in awhile it tends to be a bit "off color" . Today imparticular describing Tina Burgos as being "knocked up" I feel is a degrading term to describe hopefully a beautiful and loving relationship......maybe I'm "old fashioned" but I hope you'll just take this critique under consideration.........Happy Holidays Peace , Mary Paulk
