Ava Hallman's Style Tips for Girls

Sure, it’s cold. But your tot need not look like the Abominable Snowman. We asked trendy 5-year-old Ava Hallman for advice; with the help of her style squad (mom/dad design duo Cindy and Bill Hallman, plus their publicist), she told us how girls can look cool when it’s frosty.

Shine On
Add sparkle with metallic leggings, hats, gloves, or shoes (shimmery lipgloss also does the trick). Also glitzy: Hallman’s own line of skirts, sold in sizes 3T to 5T under the label Ava Florence.

Warm and Fuzzy
Fake fur is in. A faux shearling coat or boots with fuzzy trim is all it takes to ride the trend.

In Step
Hallman loves the Cracker Nut (Nutcracker, for those not fluent in tot-speak) and Hannah Montana, and suggests dance-inspired looks like leg warmers, tutus, and tulle.

One of the Guys
Shop the boys’ section. Grab flannel shirts, rock ’n’ roll tees, and hoodies one size larger than usual and layer them over leggings for a punk-princess look.

Now she’s dressed to chill.
