You are getting very, very sleepy.
Unfortunately, the snorting, grunting nursling in the bassinet next to you will have none of it.
Time to move baby to a nook of his own — a Nook Sleep System. The new, ecofriendly collection includes sheets, sleep sacks, pillows, and blankets, but the pièce de résistance is the Pebble crib mattress.
The eye-catching mattress’s natural latex core allows air to flow through for increased breathability while supporting baby without metal springs or plastic. A layer of organic wool helps draw heat away from the little snoozer, and a eucalyptus cover infused with zinc regulates temperature and moisture, all while keeping bacteria, dust mites, and mold at bay.
No need to use sheets or mattress pads, the pebble wrap acts as both, making middle-of-the-night accidents a breeze to clean up (just wipe with a wet or dry towel, depending on the culprit).
We know, it’s beyond your wildest dreams.

We are not talking just 'non-toxic'. If that was the case we would not have the most sophisticated infant mattress available. The Pebble provides a better sleep environment then every mattress on the market by temperature regulation, easy to clean surface, microbe resistance and MOST IMPORTANTLY BREATHABILITY. The Pebble is changing the way infants sleep . . .

I am all for improving the quality of our children's necessities. I would love to see more companies reduce the harmful chemicals that seem to be in everything today. I applaud the effort. That said, $610 is a pretty unreasonable amount of money to spend on a mattress. It is my wish that with time the price will decrease once more companies go the route of non-toxic. I recognize that "non-toxic" is an untapped industry and the cost to make the mattress is likely pretty high. I hope this item and the effort of the company will influence the industry to do a better job at keeping our kids safe. Here's hoping keeping things non-toxic will become the norm and that this company took the first step. Although I understand the business behind it and applaud the effort I still could not pay $600 for a mattress. Sorry.

Infants spend the first three-quarters of their lives sleeping; we are redefining the importance of oxygen flow and breathability in that equation. Nook has developed the revolutionary Pebble Mattress and sleep system which redefines the crib environment and meets or outperforms its competition in virtually all product benefit categories. Yes, $610 is premium price for the common crib mattress; however the Pebble mattress is a ‘category-of-one’ mattress and Nook is the only infant bedding system to consider infant health across platforms of breathability, non-toxicity, microbe resistance, dust mite and mold resistance, comfort, color, texture, fluid resistance and ecological sustainability. Every detail from our Eucalyptus sleep surface to zipper is carefully questioned, analyzed and tested for meaningful benefits prior to product release. We have spoken with parents, educators, researchers, and environmental advocates to provide the most considered products available. Independently owned and operated, Nook Sleep Systems operates out of Hermosa Beach, California. We source as many local and organic materials and manufacturing processes as possible. Packaging, printing and manufacturing of our mattresses, pillows and sheets all take place around the corner in Southern California. Our certified organic wool comes from family-owned farms in Northern California and Oregon and our organic cotton comes from deep in the heart of Texas. We depend on our Board of scientists, designers, and parents for consistent innovation and new technologies. Nook does not compromise on product standards. If we can't find the material or process necessary to deliver the healthiest night's sleep, then we create it ourselves. Shortly we will also be launching a unique group gifting option that allows families and friends to participate in the purchase of our products. Consumer considerations are important to us as they help us perfect our products. Please keep your comments coming . . . Chris Svensrud Head Scientist + President Nook Sleep Systems

I think the price is laughable. When is this site ever going to get in to the real world and find some great affordable products? I am so tired of these silly over priced items and clothing and useless ideas your staff finds. It a martha Stewart mentality-- her magazine is full of ideas that are out of reach for most people. Be clever ! And practical people! It's easy to find expensive trendy items. Anyone can go shop boutiques and the internet to find the latest dumb thing like $800. strollers you'll use for a year and get rid of. I admire sites and people who take the time to find great ideas that are inspiring and not just materialistic trendy crap that gets tossed in a year or less. Make the extra effort and find great, useful ideas that are within a price range that is realistic! Be environmentally aware and support local manufacturers. Focus being around some kids and see what it is important!! Talk to parents.. Focus on art, education, outdoor projects--enough of the "Paris Hilton/Barbie gotta have it all thinking". Good luck-- you can do it and be proud of your finds!

We just received the Nook Mattress and are very excited to show it off! It is a little pricey, but practical, eco-friendly mattresses are hard to find - AND are expensive. Most mattresses for us adults are much more expensive than this AMAZING mattress - PLUS these mattress will last until your little one has grown into a big-person bed. This isn't just a CRIB mattress - it is a TODDLER mattress as well! Your little ones will grow with the best, most eco-friendly mattress in the world! Thank you NOOK! Galt Baby in Chicago
