Kid Jam Music Sessions

Banging spoons on pots and pans is munchkin’s idea of heavy metal.

Crank up the fun at Kid Jam, a weekly session for tykes (ages 4 and up) to explore collaborative music-making in an actual studio.

Owner Jason Jeffries got his start playing Neil Young covers in his parents’ basement and has dabbled in nearly every instrument since. Under his tutelage, little rock stars try a variety of noisemakers (keyboards, congas, more) and take a stab at writing lyrics. As a group, they create an original song and even lay down tracks. All leave with a CD of their hit single.

In other words, they go out with a bang.

Winter Wonderland
What: A neighborhood gets spruced up with a tree lighting, caroling, horse and buggy rides, and a flurry of seasonal fun.
Why: Holly days are here again.

Thanksgiving Day Parade
What: Watch the annual procession wind through the streets with floats, bands, and special guests.
Why: Work up an appetite.

Saturday Family and Community Workshops
What: Explore mediums like origami and fabric collage at the weekly event free to families in the Philadelphia school district.
Why: Pencil it in.
