the insider's guide to all things mini in your city
What to expect? The scoop on everything fun, fashionable,
and cool for under-8 crowd (and their parents).
For your little goblin, it’s a sackful of treats. But for some kids, Halloween can be anything but sweet.
That’s where Emma Rose Shapiro comes in. After rooting through her closet and noticing a surplus of fairy wings, the 12-year-old decided to hold a city-wide costume drive.
She’s forfeited her beloved Hannah Montana duds, so follow her lead with a dig through the dress-up box. Outfits should be new or gently used — just remember, a princess would be nothing without her crown, so try to donate complete sets.
Shapiro enlisted the Greater Norristown Police Athletic League to distribute the goods to lil’ pumpkins in need. And she has her sights set on collecting 1,000 costumes, so she needs your help.
Or she won’t stand a ghost of a chance.
Drive ends October 10. For drop-off locations and more information, call 610-639-9460 or go to thehalloweenhelpers.com.
