Coffee or dessert? Indulge in Dri Dri Gelateria’s affogato shake and combine your two favourite vices into one delicious, traditional Italian dessert.
And seeing as Dri Dri gelato is made using fresh ingredients and no artificial flavouring, colouring, emulsifiers, unnatural thickeners (or other long words we can’t spell), it’s practically good for you.
2 shots freshly brewed espresso
8 ice cubes
4 scoops of Dri Dri gelato (suggested flavours: hazelnut, pistachio, almond, amaretto or vanilla)
1 handful of coffee beans, crumbled chocolate or chopped nuts to use as topping
1. Place two shatterproof martini glasses in the freezer for 30 minutes.
2. Place ice cubes and gelato in a cocktail shaker; pour espresso on top. Shake vigorously 10 to 15 seconds.
3. Strain and serve in frosty martini glasses. Sprinkle with coffee beans, crumbled chocolate or chopped nuts as desired and serve as an after-dinner cocktail, predinner drink or no-fuss dessert.
