The candle, the tea leaf, the cupcake, the macaroon: all have received gourmet glossovers.
Next up, cookies. Credit for the humble stateside snack’s European transformation goes to Moon Street, a label founded by a band of cool Frenchmen who share a love of haute cuisine and pastry.
The revamped treats, which fancify historic American recipes, come in several crunch-worthy flavors: Praline Chic (milk choc, praline), Le Cookie (choc chips, walnuts), Orange Crush (dark choc, candied orange zest), Rebel Rose (white choc, rose petals) and this season’s special-edition biscuit, Très Yummy (marrons glacés, cocoa nibs).
Be on the lookout for gourmet meringues later this year — a sweet upgrade if we ever heard one.
