Whether it’s Chateau Lafite, Dynasty reruns or George Clooney — to you, old is gold.
So you’ll appreciate a date with Blitz, London’s largest-ever vintage department store, opening today.
Set inside a vast (9,000-square-foot) ex-furniture factory in East London, Blitz sells an extraordinary range of clothing and accessories from every era for men and women (from 1930s Scottish tweed jackets to 1980s shoulder-padded power suits). Coveted labels like Yohji Yamamoto, Comme des Garçons and Vivienne Westwood make a rare appearance, and there are secondhand books, records, sunglasses, luggage, bric-a-brac and nifty watches, too.
Design company of the moment The Dog and Wardrobe curated collectible furniture and housewares, and there’s even a cafe, complete with a vintage Fiat car bar, in the works.
Trust you’ll be ready to attack.
Blitz, 55-59 Hanbury Street, E1 5JP (020 7377 0730 or blitzlondon.co.uk).
