Some people enjoy exercising. Really, they do.
For the rest of us, we’ve found a way to put a good spin on it.
Boom, the indoor cycling centre in Shoreditch opened by ex-model Hilary Gilbert, feels more like a nightclub than a gym. The underground space is dark and raw — think industrial exposed pipes, colourful graffiti and metal lockers. There are 40 state-of-the-art stationary bikes (plug in a USB and record workout information to analyze later), as well as a pumping sound system, raised stadium flooring so everyone can see and spotlights pointed at the instructor.
Pay-as-you-go classes will be held five times a day (this week is a soft launch with a reduced schedule), and shoes, heart rate monitors and snacks will all be available for purchase. Each instructor brings his/her own music and personal style to class — don’t miss the one held by candlelight.
It makes everyone look good.
